The VISN 8 Specialty Care/CMIO Lead has proven clinical/leadership skills using these to build upon the strengths of the Integrated Clinical Communities (ICC). In collaboration with the VISN 8 Chief Medical Officer and Deputy Chief Medical Officer, the Lead assists in the development, organization, implementation and support of high-quality patient care, medical education and research. Through persuasive and facilitative skills, influences the quality and effectiveness of Specialty Care through collaborative relations with facility leadership. The CMIO plays an integral part in VHA's sweeping transformational initiative to provide an EHR system that eliminates the need for manual data exchange and facilitates health care data interoperability. The modernized EHR will dramatically improve the quality/accessibility, and cost-effectiveness of the care which VA provides to all Veterans. This requires joint coordination with the VISN 8 Facility Health/Medical Informatics Officers. The major duties of the include but are not limited to the following:
Responsible for the management/operations of Specialty Care/Medical Informatics in close collaboration with the other VISN 8 Leads from the Primary Care, Surgical, Extended Care & Rehabilitation, Diagnostics, and Mental Health to accomplish network strategic and tactical plans Reviews/assists/consults with development of VISN 8 clinical protocols, policies, guidelines and directives Provides expertise in provider practice management, population-based health care management and use of data to assist providers in maximizing efficiency to achieve patient and provider satisfaction Provides standing reports/updates to Directors, Chiefs of Staff, HDC, and ELC on Specialty Care/CMIO activities, performance, concerns and initiatives Actively participates in national/network/facility/community level councils and work groups, as appropriate with travel to national meetings as appropriate Assists the Network/ICC in appropriately utilizing health care metrics/data to prioritize effort, improve care and direct funding/resource decisions related to Specialty Care Monitors and promotes compliance with VA regulations and professional standards. Ensures that facility programs reflect the mission/priorities of the Veterans Health Administration and VISN 8 Creates an environment of continuous quality improvement wherein programs and quality of care effectiveness are evaluated Provides an environment conducive to patient care, educational/research activity, and administrative planning/evaluation Maintains/promotes high ethical/clinical standards that are carried into evidence-based decision-making processes Represents the organization internally/externally, in a manner that positively reflects on the VISN and VA Promotes effective mix/coordination/support of clinical programs by evaluating current and potential patient population needs; clinical workload/resources; special program mandates and cost/benefit analyses; making recommendations to the CMO/HDC/ELC; and ensuring implementation of approved clinical proposals Serves as the Co-Chair of the Informatics Committee Develops/implements VISN 8 Business Intelligence and Analytics strategy Aligns VISN 8 Medical Informatics program to support VHA Value Management Strategy and execution, patient safety, quality management, population health and veterans experience goals and objectives Collaborates with the VA CMIO/Office of Electronic Health Record Modernization (OEHRM) in accomplishing goals and objectives for VistA transition to CERNER The CMIO has leadership for the VISN 8 operations and management of direct activities associated with the Electronic Health Records (EHR) Committee and workgroups, which oversee the configuration/execution of workflows and CERNER implementation Supports the VISN 8 clinical EHRM Testing and Evaluation Strategy and Plan Implements creative business/technical solutions and strategies to meet unanticipated challenges Identifies risks/threats/opportunities for the VISN EHRM Program, identifies strategies to address them, and executes coordinated corrective actions Uses clinical data to evaluate organizational operations, identify areas of improvement, and develop intervention strategies at the population level. Not required This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan reimbursement program within VHA. If selected for this position, you must meet specific individual eligibility criteria in accordance with VHA policy 1021 and apply for EDRP within four (4) months of appointment. Final award amount and program start date is determined after review of a complete EDRP application and supporting documentation by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services office. United States Citizenship:
Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. Experience:
Must have strong managerial and organizational skills as well as extensive clinical knowledge in Specialty Care and related programs. Experience as a Medical Informatics leader who uses extensive leadership skills, communication skills, clinical knowledge, health care ethics expertise, and knowledge of VA and national health care policy to advise, support and collaborate with VISN 8 key stakeholders. Skilled in collaborating with other VISN Leads and Co-leads, and nurse executives, continually collaborates with medical center facility leadership to ensure programs, initiatives and policies are implemented. Knowledge in developing and implementing VISN 8 Business Intelligence and Analytics strategy. Has current (and maintains) certification in Clinical Informatics. Board Certification in Internal Medicine or a Sub-specialty of Internal Medicine is highly encouraged. Reference:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
