Visual Information Specialist

Visual information, both digitally and in print, is a key tool in keeping America connected with ABMC and the stories of America's war dead alive. We need an innovative Graphic Designer, who can bring a modern skillset as we further develop projects in digital media, motion graphics and virtual reality. To this end, this position functions as a Visual Information Specialist in the Public Affairs Office (PAO) and is responsible for planning and coordinating the dissemination of information relating to the organization's programs, objectives and functions through print and digital visual expression and strong visual storytelling. The ideal candidate understands the impact of content properly packaged for tradition print and modern digital audiences, is a strong visual storyteller, and demonstrates familiarity with new design ideas, innovative concepts, and design trends. Manages the agency's publications program, ensuring design consistency throughout ABMC publications; Develops, designs, creates, and edits information materials designed to reach national and international audiences on the web and social media through motion graphics, elements for finished video products and elements for virtual reality experiences, and in -print with products, such as booklets, brochures, posters, bookmarks, info-graphics; Ensures a very high attention to detail, content accuracy and appropriateness; maintains brand adherence and consistency in tone/voice; and items meet quality standards and expectations; Collaborates with ABMC program managers worldwide to determine their visual information needs and assists in developing specialized items for different geographic locations; Assists in the development of strategic communication plans by considering such items as specific topics or aspects to emphasize, the most effective visual products and mediums to use in communicating with intended audiences, the kind of information various groups want or need, etc.; Evaluates the impact and effectiveness of communication plans and advises management if efforts should be discontinued, changed to redirect and/or enhance emphasis, or expanded to improve intercommunication between organizations and various audiences through visual design products. Experience:
Applicants must have at least one year of full-time specialized experience equivalent in scope and responsibility to the next lower grade of GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems, in the Federal service sufficient to perform the duties of this position. Examples of specialized experience include activities such as:
1) planning and coordinating the dissemination of corporate information; 2) developing, designing, and creating information materials using page layout and graphic design software, and 3) implementing a public affairs strategy. Note:
There is no substitution for education in lieu of experience at the GS-12 level. Time in Grade Time-in-grade restrictions apply for all candidates considered under Merit Promotion (generally applicants who have held a Federal civilian appointment within the previous 52 weeks). These applicants must have 1 year time-in-grade at the next lower level or equivalent to qualify. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
