The position is located at an Electronic Support Detachment (ESD) within Base Miami Beach, located in St.
Petersburg, FL.
The position functions as an Information Technology Manager for the networks, devices and users on the Coast Guard's data network within the ESD area of responsibility (AOR).

Typical work assignments include:
Ensuring all supported workstation systems are well maintained, safely and regularly backed-up, protected from misuse and harm, and configured to be efficient in meeting customer needs.
Providing technical assistance/solutions to standard workstations that cannot be resolved at the standard user level.
Overseeing IT Configuration management efforts within the AOR to include, planning, developing and implementing hardware and software configuration guidelines for all ESD supported units.
Coordinating/completing Time Compliant Technical Orders (TCTO) in accordance with direction and guidelines.
Coordinating and overseeing the installation of new or revised software.
AT THE GS-09 GRADE LEVEL:
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to a GS-07 level in the federal service.
Specialized experience includes:
Performing a variety of duties related to IT projects involving program/project related issues that contain complicating elements; Planning, developing, implementing, maintaining, and enhancing programs, policies, and procedures to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks and information; Monitoring and evaluating contractor policies, practices, procedures, techniques, methods and management controls; Providing government oversight for contractor technical staff involved in the full range of work involved in the end-to-end development of information technology systems with complex designs; and Serving as the subject matter expert for organizational IT security issues.
OR at least one of the following if using education to qualify at this grade level:
(A) Have a master's or equivalent graduate degree;OR(B) 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education, if related;OR(C) A law degree such as an LL.

D, if related;OR(D) A combination of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in or related to the work of this position AND some graduate level education that provided the specific knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform Information Technology Specialist duties of this position.
Experience and education combination are computed by first determining the total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determining the total of qualifying education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; and then adding the two percentages.
The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify at that grade level.
For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster.
