Physician (Caregiver Support Program (CSP) Centralized Eligibility Team)

Major duties include, but are not limited to:
Report to VISN Chief Medical Officer Service as a core member of a VISN-level Centralized Eligibility Team (CET). Adjudicate first-level appeals for alternate VISN CETs and second-level appeals for one of the other three CET Regions. Review Veteran's medical record summary, most recent History & Physical, findings of recent testing at the facility, caregiver assessment and care team input. Interpret trends and patterns; application of regulation, policy, guidelines. Maintain understanding of eligibility associated with VA service connection and conducts review of eligibility documents, as needed, to determine whether service connected condition meets eligibility requirement. Utilize knowledge of PCAFC clinical eligibility to coordinate with other regional CETs the transfer of appeals for inter-VISN evaluation. Receive, review, and dispositions PCAFC initial eligibility decisions; reassessments; and appeal decisions for clinical eligibly determinations. Ensure alignment of local and regional policy under Directive 1152(1) and the Mission Act. Completes all reports, data, and maintain logs with outcome of meetings related to the CSP Program. Analyze data obtained in record review for use in determining clinical eligibility for PCAFC. Document information utilized in clinical eligibility determination and eligibility assessment tools. United States Citizenship:
Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. Experience:
Board Certified in Primary Care Medicine, Internal Medicine, PM&R or Geriatrics. Education and length of practice will be considered through a formal pay-setting process in determining the final compensable salary (Base Pay
Market Pay). Reference:

This position requires visual acuity, keen hearing, clear distinctive speech, and manual dexterity. The work requires occasional periods of continued walking, standing, stooping, sitting, bending, pulling, and pushing.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
