Physical Scientist GS-1301-09/11 (TERM-PR)

As a Physical Scientist within the St. Petersburg Coastal and Marine Science Center, some of your specific duties will include:
-Identify topographic data that can be used to update morphologic inputs required by the assessment and forecasting system.-Run hydrodynamic and morphologic models.-Apply advanced methods of data analysis (e.g. signal processing, statistics) on various types of data in support of research on storm-induced coastal change.-Prepare reports of observed coastal change for landfalling hurricanes.-Assists research scientists in preparing papers for publication or presentation. Above duties are for the GS-11 level. For the lower grade levels, incumbent will perform a wide range of tasks described in the above duties, but at a lower level of work designed to further develop and refine the knowledge and skills of the incumbent. Assignments will typically combine productive work with on-going training and instruction. Supervision received at the lower level will be closer with oversight and review being provided more frequently. independent responsibility for a well-defined study or for a phase of a larger study that required the planning and carrying out of routine physical science work. This work would have required the individual to select and make minor adaptations to procedures and accepted practices and handle unexpected conditions arising in the normal course of the work. At this level, physical scientists have the ability to independently perform moderately difficult and responsible scientific work. You must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements for the position by the closing date of the announcement.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
