Responsible for providing direct supervision and care for a group of children through a caring, positive, authoritative relationship. Makes children feel welcome and comfortable. Assists in the planning and implementing of scheduled period(s) of activities, which are developmentally appropriate and ensures the safety and well being of the children as well as providing a model of quality.
I. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Serves as back-up staff member in charge as assigned.
Prepares and Implements a program of activities in accordance with agency curriculum for a group of children. Prepares lesson plans.
Maintains attendance records for a designated group of children and Adheres to regular work and activity schedules. Assists in food preparation and distribution.
Establishes and Maintains control and safety of an assigned group of children. Assures the orderliness and cleanliness of designated work area(s).
Serves as an effective role model for the children by Assisting children in a way that develops the childs role and initiative and Interacts in ways that help them learn.
Assists children with feeding and bathroom needs i.e., changing diapers, helping child to restroom, feed child, etc.
Maintains a positive and professional attitude with parents, children and staff at all times. Participates in parent contact and communication as assigned. Communicates the childs progress with parents in a positive and supportive manner.
Wears the appropriate clothing for child care duties and Identifies safety hazards and immediately Corrects them or Reports them to supervisor.
Attends staff meetings, training events, workshops, etc. and Maintains required level of training hours with required documentation.
Performs other related duties as assigned.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
