JOB SUMMARY
Patient Interviewer Representatives are responsible for contacting and surveying discharged patients to ascertain satisfaction with healthcare providers. Patient Interviewer Representatives have to follow strict guidelines established by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Work performed by Patient Interviewer Representatives is subject to federal quality assessment audits. Interviews conducted by Patient Interviewer Representatives are highly repetitive and must be audio recorded. Opinion statements made by patients must be recorded verbatim by Patient Interviewer Representatives and will be reviewed by a Survey Research Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. Others may be assigned.
Interviewing patients via telephone, strictly adhering to survey scripts.
Listening carefully while accurately typing patients'' responses into the CPC SMART survey research system.
Attending frequent training sessions and project review meetings.

Responsible for conducting all of the following survey research studies plus new projects as they are developed:
o Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (H-CAHPS)
o Home Healthcare Agency CAHPS
o Physician and Clinical Group CAHPS
o Emergency Department patient discharges
o Outpatient Surgery patient discharges
o Outpatient Services patient discharges
o Inpatient discharges
o Healthcare Effectiveness Data & Information Set

Being courteous, projecting enthusiasm and demonstrating empathy for patients while encouraging them to volunteer their time to complete the interview.

Ensuring patient confidentiality.

Repeating the same process throughout the day.
Working knowledge of MS-Word and Outlook, plus SPSS survey software and Aspect''s call management system is a plus.
Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Spanish bilingual strongly preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
