Under minimal supervision, uses specialized skills gained through education, training, and experience in the securities industry to interpret I.

S regulations and translate them into practical application in order to properly certify accounts, apply proper tax withholding, and produce compliant tax forms.
Actively participates in compliance-related projects that are complex and considered high-risk.
Works independently and interprets IRS regulatory changes and translates them into practical applications.
Reviews daily activity and reconciles between internal and vendor systems to ensure accurate tax reporting.
Delivers superior client service through accuracy, timeliness and consistency.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Reconciles daily tax payments between the I.

S, general ledger accounts, and vendor systems and resolves any out of balances.
Develops test cases for the annual testing of tax forms and utilize a defect tracking system to log defects and resolve issues to ensure tax forms are I.
R.
S compliant and ready for production.
Independently researches complicated tax issues and shares research and recommendations with management to determine if procedural changes are necessary.
Reviews audit documentation for IRS/internal audit to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Provides suggestions to strengthen current controls.
Participates in projects of a larger more complex size and regulatory in nature.
Collaborates with project members, executes deliverables accurately and timely, and provides updates to management regularly.
Translates research into departmental policies, job procedures, and training material.
Identifies gaps in processes and provides suggested enhancements (i.
e.
technology and procedural) along with supporting documentation.
Attends industry conferences and participates in industry forums and committees.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QualificationsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
General office practices, procedures, and methods.
IRS regulations regarding:
Federal backup, Non-Resident Alien, FATCA, Form W-9, and Form W-8 series.
Specifically W8-IMY certifications, withholding and reporting.

tax reporting fundamentals, including TEFRA/backup and federal withholding.
NRA certification withholding and reporting as it relates to FATCA.
Puerto Rico tax reporting (480.
6 Series).
Testing methodologies.
Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and Outlook to create/update documents, reports, spreadsheets and emails.
Skill in:
Analyzing and adjusting transaction and account balance discrepancies.
Compiling documentation, drafting procedures, and developing and delivering training materials.
Producing both retail and retirement I.

S tax Forms:
1099-B, 1099-DIV, 1099-INT, 1099-MISC, 1099-OID, 1099-R, 5498, 1097-BTC, 1042-S, and 2439 Reading and applying IRS regulations as they pertain to:
Federal backup, Non-Resident Alien, FATCA, Form W-9, and Form W-8 series.
Specifically W8-IMY certifications, withholding and reporting.
Ability to:
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with all levels in the organization.
Read and understand complex IRS regulations and translate into practical application.
Ability to analyze complex problems independently and resolve them.
Demonstrate efficiency and flexibility in performing detailed transactional tasks in a fast-paced work environment with frequent interruptions, changing priorities, and deadlines.
Provide a high level of customer service.
Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree with a concentration in a related area and a minimum of two years (2) of experience in a related field.
