Saint Petersburg, FL Saint Petersburg, FL Full-time Full-time $20 an hour $20 an hour POSITION OVERVIEW The Maintenance Tech will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities including basic plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, HVAC, and other building systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Performs general repairs to all building fixtures and equipment.
Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors, minor electrical and plumbing and other building fixtures.
Respond to a wide variety of requests from staff and visitor feedback via a work ticket system for repair and maintenance in a timely and friendly manner Inspects and replaces lighting in all public spaces on a daily basis Performs regular care and maintenance of glass to include scheduled and daily Performs regular care and maintenance of tile and carpet Keeps maintenance tools and equipment in good working order and stored in an orderly manner as well as storage spaces and workshop areas in neat and efficient condition both on and off site Comfortable with working at heights exceeding 20 feet Perform set up and tear down of tables and chairs for Museum Programs and Events Periodically assist with landscape and grounds maintenance projects as needed Assist with exhibition build-out and tear down as needed Assist with shipping/receiving, offsite warehouse as needed This position requires a flexible work schedule including evening, weekend and holidays as well as on-call responsibilities.

Experience:

years Commercial Facilities experience preferred Proficient knowledge of HVAC mechanical systems and building automations systems is preferred but not required.
Must have aptitude to learn these skills Proficient use of lift equipment such as a scissor and atrium lifts are required While not a regular occurrence, proficient knowledge of operating a forklift or other heavy machinery is a plus.
Knowledge of general carpentry and repair Practical knowledge in the use of hand and power tools High school diploma or equivalent required Excellent organizational and time management skills Must have a working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook Motivated self-starter On-the-job training offered Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior management CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
IFMA or other professional organization membership or designation a plus Driver's license in good standing PHYSICAL DEMANDS - The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
